The State Of Delaware has introduced a new new law that will facilitate sports betting. The law could come into effect from a practical standpoint as early as September of 2009.
Sports such as Soccer, Football and Ice hockey and others will be covered. The law is interesting in the fact that it brings these sports into the same category as state lotteries and horse racing.
The NFL is not pleased with the decision. They already have a problem with gambling arising from players betting by proxy on the outcome of games. Legal representatives for the NFL had argued that these sports should not be put in the same category as picking lottery numbers as a degree of skill is involved in the picking of bets.
The state’s Governor has commented that he is pleased on the basis that this has cleaned up a number of ambiguities and has provided a solid framework to deal with sports lotteries.
Now that law has been enacted, the NFL is considering a legal challenge.

A lot of numbers for the early part of the year are now out. It would seem that the online casino industry has fared reasonably well during the first part of 2009. It is often said that this is a recession proof business but that is not always necessarily the case,
